Lindsays Bridal Portraits~

Friday, June 26, 2009

It was a beautiful afternoon, a bit too hot for me, but beautiful none the less. And I took a drive out to Boerne, Texas to photograph Ms. Lindsay in her gorgeous gown!
She is one lucky lady, with her family and matron of honor at her side, quick with the handy battery fan and a bottled water. We drove all over her parents community on the hill, finding streams, ponds, grand trees and perfect light. Our session was wonderful, and will be one of my last here in the states... awe!
Her wedding is planned for September at the Pearl Stables. Can't wait to see this venue!

Thank you to Lindsay, family and friends, for a great evening. We beat the rain! Yea!!!
Enjoy some of what we captured today...

It's been some time now...

Thursday, June 25, 2009

I know, I know... my blogging stinks lately. But when you are busy prepping a house for sale in 102* weather, the only thing I have the energy for is... well, nothing. :)
Actually things here are moving right along. Eric is busy getting settled into his new position in Germany. Making lots of friends (no surprise) and exploring the countryside. Checking out all the great spots to take me. I am anxious to get there and continue my own personal love story. The way I'm looking at it is No TDY's and no Traveling back to the states for the holidays. :) Plenty of time to be the newlyweds we never had the time to be before. Thats not such a bad thing eh? These might be the only two years I will ever get with my hubby that is not interrupted with other crap. YEA!!!
No weddings for me intentionally until July. I needed this time to get caught up with client orders, prep the house, and take a little mini vacation to Vegas come this Sat. All the fun stuff.

I have a bridal shoot tonight... yes, in the heat of a scorching hot day. I hope she doesn't melt!

Story in the SA Express News tomorrow...

Thursday, June 11, 2009

I would like to thank columnist Rhonda Templeton for her wonderful story that will be in tomorrows San Antonio Express News. Rhonda approached me earlier this week interested in writing a story based around the military spouse and our balance of home and career... can we really have it all? And what gives when we have to make a decision? It was a great look into both our commitments and our sacrifices as a military spouse.

You know what though... I wouldn't have it any other way. It keeps things fresh, exciting, and it reminds me of this wonderful husband who is strong enough to let me fly. And waits patiently until I land because he knows we both deserve a chance to live life, but still be an "US".

If I never said it strong enough, mighty enough, honestly enough, or just enough in general... thank you baby for being a man of your word. I love you and I miss you terribly~

A small reunion... of sorts~

Its not the pretty lenses or the big cameras and lights, it's the relationships that I create every time I walk behind that black box. It is surely the most important, and the best, part of my business.
Meet the Demerest family! This beautiful couple came to me over a year and a half ago looking for a photographer for their wedding. It was my first ever presentation... and my first ever signed contract. And, I could not have asked for better people to work with. My portfolio with them started with Jolyns bridal portraits, then their engagement portraits, then the wedding. And last but surely not least... she was my bride featured on ABC/KSAT 12 news with me during our "Rock the Dress" segment filmed just months ago. Time definitely flies!!!
Now, as her hubby ships off to Germany (ironically only minutes from my hubby) and Jolyn fulfills her military duties as well... it was time for an updated family portrait. I was happy to be there once again.
I hope to be a part if this families life for years to come. I am sure our military obligations will bring our paths together once again. Maybe your next images can be from Germany? I'm sure I will see you all there!
I had a great time catching up with all of you today!

Lindsay & TJ are Engaged!!!

Monday, June 8, 2009

Meet Lindsay and TJ... like all my couples, they are fabulous! And personal friends of my husbands, so extra special as well. You all know that my military families are a personal thing to me, I am always ready to be a part of their special day.
We met out in Rio Medina Texas on TJ's parents ranch. It was a beautiful place to spend an evening taking pictures... with rusty tractors and meadows of green. Tree swings, ATV's and classic cars??? Yes, TJ's family are heavy into their hobby, and this couple convinced the folks and a family friend to loan those beauties out for our shoot. Good thing my couple is so hot... or the cars might have stolen the spotlight!
Thanks for the great evening you two! Lindsay, can't wait for those bridal portraits!!!

The eyes have it!!!

Sunday, June 7, 2009

From my first visit with Audrey months back... I knew this woman and I were going to get along just fine! She has a great sense of humor, amazing style, and the most beautiful green/ gold eyes I have ever seen. How lucky am I that I get to photograph this beauty for not only her engagements and wedding, but today, her bridal portraits. It was an amazing day and we shot on location at a private residence in Castle Hills. Big thank you to Audrey's friend the Dr.!!!

I tried so hard to not concentrate on my brides eyes, but as you will see... they are amazing. I'll bet this woman gets anything she wants just by giving you that look. And she's got that look! We really had a great time today. It was such a pleasure to work with such a playful subject. This is just proof positive that when you are comfortable in front of the camera, I can make it fall in love with you. Of course it doesn't hurt to be this gorgeous!
