Las Vegas Vacation~

After a delayed flight and a night in Dallas, Eric and I finally made it home!
I love to vacation, but there is nothing like your own bed and pillow, not to mention my puppies! I think I miss them the most.
Our trip to Vegas was fabulous! We did so many things that I am busy downloading pictures for our albums. My favorite? It's a toss up between Zumanity, and our night flight in the helicopter over the Vegas strip~
It was so great to see you Lisa! The baby is so big now! Thank you Tom for lunch... I am so happy that you and Eric finally met. To Lonnie, may you rest in peace my friend, I miss you terribly. Thank you Monique and Kara for a great shoot... see you next time!

I promised to share, so here is a peek into our week in Vegas...


The Monorail system... gets you to any major shopping area in each big casino in just minutes! I spent a lot of time on this thing! :)



We tried our hand at the "Wheel of Fortune" machine... unfortunately not as lucky as the last trip! :(



This is our helicopter coming in to pick us up for a tour of the Vegas Strip at night!



Although I was not equipped for night time aerial photography, I was able to capture a few fairly clear images. I was surprised, it was not too scary at all! Here are a few from the air~







One afternoon I wanted to go up to Red Rock Canyon to snap some pics... I was sad to see that the spot I used to come visit had been burned by fire.

Couldn't wait, Neon Boneyard Shoot~

As I go through the images from our TTD session at the Las Vegas Neon Boneyard (which was more like an urban bridal shoot), I am amazed at how beautiful she is. Her look is so exotic, with her dark eyes, dark hair, and olive complexion. Unfortunately I do not have a specific program installed on my laptop, so the "RAW" files that I have I am unable to open. I'm sad... :(

But I shoot in double format, meaning I also have a JPG of each image as well. And although the clarity and ability to edit is the difference between night and day, the images are fun none the less.

So, of course I couldn't help but to post 1 preview from our shoot. She wanted blown out, artistic images that truly captured who she is. A little rough, a little bold... just how I like it!

The rest will have to wait until I arrive home~

What happens in Vegas is coming back to S.A. with me~

We are here... Sin City baby! The weather is beautiful, although I found myself with a sore throat the first two nights from the "dry heat"... lol! I lived here 18 years, now I have a hard time recognizing the city skyline. Where have all these buildings come from? It is amazing!

And although I lived here for so long, there are still things that I have never experienced. Like taking a helicopter tour of the city at night. Or dining at the Top of the World restaurant while it revolves 360* every 80 minutes. Fun, interesting things that I always wanted to try with the person I love. Tonight it was off to Freemont street where we listened to jazz on the street corner while devoured oysters on the half shell accompanied by a fabulous bottle of white. A short walk down Freemont and we found a street vendor drawing by the neon lights. He was amazing! Did I mention that this is a fabulous trip so far?

So... let's talk about the TTD session Monday. Unique, controversial, simply HOT! I have never done this type of shoot before, but it was exactly what I had been waiting for. My bride was stunning in her roughed and jeweled gown. While her MOH kept with the goth theme wearing tulle skirting with a red and black corset. Red hair, tattoos, blue eyes. I hit the mark on this one~

Sorry, you will have to wait until I get home to see those. Be watching for them by Saturday!!!

Speaking of which, we arrive home on Friday night and I hit the ground running by the early morning, busy preparing for the bridal show this coming Sunday.

Off to Vegas~

There was a lot of waiting and wondering going on in our home, as we watched Ike hit the coast of Texas late Friday. Though our friends to the east where hit and hit hard, San Antonio managed to escape the wrath of Ike and and we awoke on Saturday morning to clear, blue skies and calm air. Thank God! Because I was flying out to Vegas... and I absolutely hate to fly! Stormy skies would have made it a 2 cocktail flight for sure~

We hit the skies and made it into Vegas just before midnight. Just in time to check in and get some sleep, I have my bride I was meeting Sunday morning. Did I mention the TTD session I had set for Monday at the Neon Bone Yard? I can't wait! This young lady is a stunning woman. With jet black hair, and a look photographers dream of! This shoot is going to be amazing!!!

Let's just say that we are going to push the boundaries in the arena of artistic creation. This won't be for everyone... but then again?

Thus far our trip has been amazing. Can't wait to share more with you~~~

Let them eat cake!!!~

MMMmmmmmm, cake! How about pastries of any kind? Yes, I must say I have a weakness for all things sweet, and if they come in a pretty package to boot, then I am so there!
So, make your way down Walzem, just past the 35, and just before Austin Hwy. There, you will find a pretty pink cake shop named "SUGAR HILL BAKERY". Local brides voted, and rated Sugar Hill "The Knot Best of Weddings 2008", which is huge! But don't go in there hungry because just the aroma from the parking lot will make you salivate!!!
I love them... young, beautiful, successful women with huge hearts and even bigger smiles. The first time I met Teresa and Deanna I was with Mrs. Houle (my business partner, and owner of Trinity Wedding Solutions). Sugar Hill had just signed on with us to become our exclusive cake shop. I walked in and was welcomed by, not only the biggest, but the best hug I have been given in a very long time. You know the kind... strong, meaningful hugs. I felt at home right away!
We all sat and talked for awhile. Set out business plans and such.
Now, things are in forward motion. So, I took some time today to go say hi to my new friends and to take some shots of their incredible work.
Next time you are in the area, and even if you are not. Just make the drive... it is SO worth it!!! They can do it all, I have seen for myself! Whew!!! No request is too over the top or too modest. Anything from cakes, to pastries, to gifts for that favorite someone. Yummy! What are you waiting for!!!

We shall never forget... 9/11~

For the second year in a row, DB Images Photography had the pleasure of covering our city's "Freedom Walk" celebration. A celebration of the strength of our nation, our people, our belief in all things fair and just. Even if you don't believe in the war we are fighting right now, we can all remember where we were and what we were doing when the twin towers fell. How we felt. The violation of our freedom, our rights. People died that day. Many more men and women die everyday for the freedom of this country. September 11th will forever be the beginning of the change of America.
Every September 11th nationwide, we come together to remember those lives lost that day. We walk for those who cannot. We talk about that day. We cry. We grow stronger. We are Americans!
I am proud to show another year in images from the city of San Antonio's Freedom Walk. Operation Home front is an organization that I am happy to donate my time and talents to. Thank you Curtis for all your support. Thank you Victoria for getting my images onto the National press. Thank you to those who serve. Thank you God for making me "An American Child!!!"

An Artistic Afternoon...

There are times when I am either out and about, or just busy working at home, when I get a glimpse of an artistic vision that I think I might want to play with.
Today I was seated at my desk, which is 7ft. by 4 ft. of beveled glass. My husband bought it for me as a gift when I was designing my office... what a guy! I love it!
At times I get a reflection from the windows beside me, or the lights from another room. The inspiration hits me and I have to go grab my camera. I used my wedding rings, here is what I captured.

Dolts Family Reunion!

Hello world! I have come back into the land of the living! Feeling much better indeed! It always feels good to hold my camera again! Thank you again to those who have wished me a quick and full recovery.

So, I have to say that the best thing ever is a new client from the referral of another. Meet the Dolts family... This beautiful group came together for a few days from all over the U.S., to share in both an anniversary and a reunion. They were fabulous! We all met out at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort (which is beautiful BTW) and I spent a few hours getting to know everyone. We laughed as they walked the grounds while I snapped away. I had a blast! Here are a few shots from our day. Thank you Dolts family for a great afternoon, and thank you to Emily for the kind words!

Emily & Ivan are Married!!!

One would think that this couple is the only couple that I photograph... with over 3500 images taken of the bride and groom over a 9 month period of time I have frequently posted the best of Ivan and Emily and their ever growing love story. This couple is extra special to me because they are not only clients who trusted me with the most important day of their life, but they are also very dear friends. Our families have spent Christmas' past, Halloween, New Years together as they played host to a lonely Army wife with a husband gone TDY most of the holiday time.
This couple is beautiful! I was there, as I mention many times, right from the start when Ivan asked Emily to be his wife... last evening they became husband and wife and it was amazing! The church was simply beautiful and I couldn't wait to get to editing their images. So, even though by now the happy couple are laying on the beach in Cabo (lucky ducks!!!) I am posting a few of my favorites so far from their simply stunning wedding... Enjoy!!!
