I have a new program that makes my clients personal labels for thier disks... I am having so much fun being creative. Just one more way we are growing at DB Images~

Call me Gadget Girl~

I have this thing for gadgets. Shiny, blinking, beeping, colorful gadgets. Today I finally broke down and bought myself the new iTouch... and now I am in love! I can sync it with my MAC and have all my info., including emails, sent directly to me via their "cloud" mobileme feature. If you can treat yourself, treat yourself to one of these babies. Lives up to the hype~

In between editing, playing with my new itouch (yea!), and getting Eric ready for the big departure I am a true mess! I know now why larger studios outsource their work!!!
So, I am late by a day with my pic of the week, sorry folks.
This is my beautiful bride Laura, who is now Mrs. Nasser! I just received an email from her telling me that they just arrived home from their honeymoon in Hawaii! How fun! Hope they took lots of pictures! :)
I love this image of Laura preparing for her big day. I used a tungsten lighting effect to get her to glow a light shade of blue... beautiful!

Alexis Turns Sweet 16!!!

I always say that a referral client is one of my favs. because I know that a former client loved my work so much that they went out of their way to be sure someone else experienced the same great service!
And today I had my first studio shoot with the sister of a bride of mine. She is turning sweet 16 and they wanted portraits and event coverage... from ME! I was thrilled! So they drove the hour and twenty minutes to our new studio and I burned up those lights for 2 hours! We had a great time!

Hubbys New Tattoo...

Before deployment, it is not unusual for a soldier to get himself a tattoo to symbolize the change of station, etc...
In my husbands 18 years of service, and numerous tours of duty, he had never managed to find himself in a tattoo shop. Then I came along! I have this thing for the bad boys... even at my age it makes me crazy when I see motorcycles, tattoos, and fast cars. I know, I know, mother wants to cry!
But I married a really great guy, no... I am telling you truly he is a really great guy! My prince! And he is as clean as the driven snow compared to my usual choices prior to our relationship. I was so ready to find him! LOL!
Now, he wears boots with his motorcycle, Ed Hardy t-shirts and just got his first tattoo, and it is so hot!
I threw him in front of my camera and snapped a few shots of the arm.
Great look baby!

Mz. Fabulous!!!

This past week you could easily find me buried elbow deep in reciepts, contracts, and deliveries. Not to mention a ton of editing to do...
In the middle of it all I came across some images that Ms. Stone captured from our last wedding. I love the baby in the black and white and I love the softness of the flower girls dress hanging in the door frame.
Thanks for the great images Shelia! Hope you are having a grand time with your hubby! I so love the reunions!

New toys...

Today's post is brief... but I have two new "favorite things" that I wanted to share with you. My new shootsac (www.shootsac.com). A PPA "Hot Ones" award winner!
With it's removable/changeable/colorful covers and plenty of room for all my gear, it's fashion forward and functional. I absolutely love it and can't wait to use it on my next shoot.
Next, my lookbook (www.photographerstoolkit.com). By the fabulous John Mireles, the lookbook is jam packed with ideas on posing for the bride and groom. Whether its the engagement or the wedding, you're sure to find plenty to keep you busy.
And my new Chaise Lounge from skyline furniture. Can't wait to use it on Tracy's maternity shoot!
Last, but certainly not least, my DVD holders. With their pink and gold ribbon adorned with pearls, to the scalloped edges. I simply love the boutique feel of these new designs.

STUDIO LAUNCH PARTY~

DB Images Photography is throwing a party! And all my brides and portrait clients are welcome to attend! Word on the street, it's going to be a blast!
It's our official "Studio Launch Party" to kick off the opening of our new studio space, our new associate, our move to Europe... yes folks it's official in that arena as well. After months of back and forth, ups and downs, not knowing what to pack or what to think... the time has come for an official announcement. We are indeed heading to Germany! Looks like I got what I wanted after all? Yea me! LOL!
Eric is out of here on April 20th, while I will be staying behind to take care of my brides until the last wedding December 5th... then it's sell a house, a car, pack up, take care of all those pesky details and I am off to Germany for 3 years.
So, school is back on. A European portfolio is back on, and living in Europe is back on!!! Whoo-hoo!!!
So, my 2010 booked brides are now going to Mz. Stone, since she will still be here months after I leave, and my brides for 2009... let's make this a great year!

It's our new Associate!

I'm at my desk one early afternoon about 2 weeks ago... the phone rings. At first, when she mentioned the military, I thought it was another phone call for Operation Love ReUnite. I listened closely. But then she started talking about me, my business, and her photography. I listened even closer.
She spoke of Bahrain, Okinawa, and Texas... yes, what a combo! She spoke of her photography business, her equipment, her dreams, her WORKING WITH ME???!!!??? I was flattered, that out of all the photographers she had googled, blog stalked, etc. she chose DB Images to call.

So we decided to meet face to face, like an interview slash first date almost! It was fun! And we just clicked!
As the conversation grew into a full blown, all out free for all of topics... we had wondered where the time had went so quickly? By the luncheons end I had my new associate... Shelia Stone!

Her work is fierce, her attitude is dynamic, her sense of humor must be a little off because she just gets me and I can't say that about a whole lot of people anymore. She is a strong woman, a world traveler, a military wife, a mother, and now I am proud to call her my friend.

It's Monday... You know what that means~

It's Monday... and Mondays always brings us to our photo of the week.
I have so much to blog about that I am going to try to post them sporadically . But, for today our image comes from one of the two weddings we shot this weekend...
If ever there were a picture of an extremely bored and unhappy groomsmen, this would HAVE to be it!!! Kids can find sticks and rocks to keep themselves occupied, the groomsmen sits staring at the ground probably wondering when it will all be over and where's the bar?
