The funny side of my life: I am NEVER happy with my hair and have this terrible habit of coloring it and then chopping it all off... then I cry for the next 3 months until it starts to look normal again. Like I just did a few weeks ago/ I thought that Katie Holmes cut was really cute... boy was I wrong! LOL!!! Just ask Eric! I love to laugh until I cry, my husband makes it easy... wait, that sounded all wrong! :)- LOL!!! I am hooked on Starbucks and will hold my consultations there in a New York minute! I have great friends back in Vegas that I miss terribly and I am a known for being on the computer until after 2am!
The serious side of my life: I miss my Grandparents everyday and swear my Nana follows me in the form of butterflies. I hate Pres. Bush, and hate the war in Iraq even more. I believe in what my husband is called to do when he is asked to serve. I believe in spirits. Boo!!!

Those puppies are crying again and it's almost time for my baby to call me so I'd better go. I can't wait to see him on Friday! I love homecomings! Whoo-hoo!!!!!

Can you say "I Do" (over)...???

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

My bride Crystal phoned me the other day to talk about her engagement pictures as well as to decide on which one will be used as her invitations. During our conversation we talked about her and Daniel and their plans for Valentines day. She began to explain how Daniel would be out of town on the big day but, that he had surprised her with her gift early... the engagement ring she had been waiting for! She was thrilled!!!
Later in the conversation she mentions how she wasn't wearing that ring during her engagement shoot. So sad!!! I understood what she was trying to say... so what is a good photographer to do? Schedule an "I Do" do-over!!!
I want each and every client to be in love with the images that I capture of them. If the dress wasn't falling just right, if the client was ill, she hated her outfit, her hubby-to-be wouldn't smile... those are all things that she will rememeber everytime she looks back at those pictures and I can't have that!
So, it was off to the River Walk for a stroll around downtown. I couldn't have asked for more beautiful light to shoot in, and this modern bride is artsy and hip. Falling towards those magazine/ glamour type shots. You know the ones... contrast/ saturation turned way up, lighting just alittle off. So I got creative and she loved the outcome. I must admit, I like them myself.

And here are a few of my favorites... more in the gallery.

Crystal & Daniel are in love....!!!

Monday, February 11, 2008

Let me introduce Crystal and Daniel... a fun loving couple that spent the afternoon with me at beautiful Brackenridge Park. Lately I have spent more than a few hours wandering the paths of the park grounds capturing people in love! How fun is that!!!
Today I met with this newlywed couple, who are planning a lavish affair this coming May right here in San Antonio... don't you know that DB Images will be right there covering it all from beginning to end. This beautiful bride even asked about our "trash the dress" session, which we will do with the help of her very involved fiance', down on the Guadalupe River come June.
Decked in blue and cream and looking oh so fabulous, we walked amongst people enjoying a bright and sunny day at the park. It just seemed that the more we walked, the more wonderful places we found to take pictures. But, when you look as great as they do every spot became the "perfect" spot.
Be sure to check back soon, when we post her bridal pictures. This modern bride is opting for the unusual and artistic style portrait... how fun!
Until then, here are a few of my favorites...

And the two become one...

It was a spectacular wedding for Jolyn and Domeas
as they exchanged vows at the Alamo Plaza in downtown San Antonio. With the Alamo behind them and the whole world in front of them, they were joined by family, friends and onlookers abound while they said "I Do" under the gazebo, then made their way towards the reception site accompanied by a trio of maraichi players. People cheered as the beautiful couple strolled through the streets of San Antonio... it was so much fun!
A room filled with the rich colors of burnt orange and red, fabulous food and a cake to die for is what awaited the new couple.
I cannot say enough about these two, very in love people! They were a pleasure to work with and I look forward to a long relationship with them as they reach new milestones in their life. Maybe a maternity session? Hehehehe!!!!

Congratulations you two! And may God bless your lives together!!!

Preparing for the big day!!!

Thursday, February 7, 2008

Jolyn and Domeas joined me down on the River Walk for a fun afternoon of pictures for their engagement album. This fun loving couple cut it down to the last possible moments to get all the pictures they needed before their wedding this Saturday (yes, THIS Saturday!)... But when Uncle Sam is in charge, you have to go with the flow. Jolyn is just a happy camper having him home from Germany after a long separation that, unfortunately, will continue only days after the ceremony when Domeas had to return to duty.
So, we took the time that they had and captured some beautiful memories for them to cherish, and for Domeas to take with him back overseas.
She is from Chicago, and he is from California... but they met here in San Antonio, so they wanted their images to reflect the merging of lives here in Texas. Where else but the River Walk? With the beautiful skyline in the background, and the River Walk below... their pictures surely show where they now call home.
As we started to lose some light, I suggested going over to the Art District where we continued our shoot and had a fabulous time!

So... here's to Jolyn and Domeas! Many long years together you two!!!! And Jolyn, I know how lonely it gets being a Military wife! If you ever want to hit a Starbucks to chat I can always be easily talked into it!!!

Bridals at McNay...

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

Well, the weather held just long enough to capture some beautiful images of my bride Jolyn while we strolled the grounds at the McNay museum. It was a bit windy, but that just made for some great effects with her beautiful dress!
Decked to the nines is a champagne lace gown, hair pulled back and beautiful orange and red flowers... she was stunning. I cannot wait until Saturday when her and her man become husband and wife! She was wonderful to work with, flawless to say the least. A gorgeous face with a figure to match, she made my job so very easy. Mom came along for support and was wonderful as well. I have a feeling that this will be a beautiful wedding... but then again, aren't all weddings beautiful?!?
Here are a few of my favorites, check out all the best of the best in my gallery.

Emily and Ivan are engaged!!!!!

Sunday, February 3, 2008

A long walk through Brackenridge Park this afternoon ended in a surprise proposal for Emily and Ivan, and DB Images was there to capture it all! I have to admit, it was hard for me to not cry a few tears for this beautiful couple who are planning to wed this August here in San Antonio! Of course you know that we will be there to share in their big day! I feel like part of the family, honored to be a part of it all from the moment he asked her to be his wife until the moment she becomes Mrs. Guerra.
They are a stunning couple, truly in love and it shows in every glance and every movement they make towards one another. Ms. Emily had no idea that he was going to pop the question... assuming it was just another one of their Saturday afternoon walks through the park. A long stroll down a tree lined path, over the stone bridge, coming to rest on a park bench to feed the ducks. He turned to her and gave her a kiss, then he got down on one knee, pulled out the gorgeous ring and asked her to be his one and only. She cried, I cried, it was magical! As they walked away hand in hand I came out from behind the tree and continued to snap away... what I captured was amazing. Nothing is more beautiful than two people in love! Congratulations to you both! It was my pleasure to be a part of it all!

The big question...

The answer...

The Bling...
