Good Morning World~

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

Only in Texas can you awake on a crisp winters morning and see a sunrise that will take your breath away. Ok, I am quite sure that other people see the same thing elsewhere, but I would like to think that God made it just for us here in Texas... because the people here are so fabulous!!!
The glow through the bedroom window woke me up earlier than usual, I was not at all upset. Surely not after I saw what was creating that orange color painting the walls of my room.
Of course I grabbed the camera and snapped away. Then I went and played with the colors just for fun! Beautiful!!!

Meet the Wolicki's!!!

Monday, December 29, 2008

I have this thing lately with out of state brides it would seem, with this being my 4th in 3 months! The happy couple comes to me from Lawton, Oklahoma, how exciting!!!
I stand by what I preach... it's not the size of your celebration, the guest list count, the decor, or the venue that matters most. It is of no matter how grand or intimate the event. It is your wedding day, whether two hours long or the entire day... and that alone is reason to celebrate with fabulous images!
So it was off to the courthouse this afternoon f
or the union of the Wolicki family! We followed it up with pictures at the missions, which was a great learning experience for us for future bridal shoots. The grounds are beautiful, rich in history and emotion.
It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with the two of you and your fabulous family!
Safe travels back to Oklahoma~

Laura & Alex are engaged!!!

Saturday, December 27, 2008

I was thrilled when I was contacted via Rosemary from Trinity Wedding Solutions with a bride who was interested in my images and wanted to know if I had her date available. One week later we were on board the bridal parade... today, I finally met my new bride Laura and her hubby to be Alex, since they come all the way to me from Indiana!
I cannot wait to cover their wedding to be held in May at the Bushnell House in San Antonio. It is going to be a beautiful ceremony on the rooftop terrace with an elegant reception under the stars and overlooking all of the city.
With her bridal portraits coming in May, this
afternoon we all met up at the Incarnate World for their engagement portraits. This place has sentimental meaning to this couple since they attended school here together. We walked the grounds as they showed me all over, searching for those sweet spots. We found plenty! After, we headed to the Tea Gardens. I have to start remembering how busy it is on the weekends there! And although this day started off overcast and windy, you would never guess that is was just two days after Christmas. Temps. in the high 70's and blue skies hit around 3pm... just in time for our shoot!
This May is packed with 3 weddings booked (including Laura & Alex) and 2 portrait sessions... fabulous!
As promised, here are a few of your images you two... ENJOY!!!

A bright, shiny Christmas...

Thursday, December 25, 2008

Christmas lights, champagne bubbles, childrens eyes on Christmas morning, the two wooden boxes Santa left me under the tree... "What are, things that are sparkling and bright?"
Yes, I must say that I have a weakness for a few things, Starbucks in the chilly am hours, a great pair of heels, sushi-sushi-sushi, and diamonds! You would think that by now I am about "b
linged" out (could there even be such a thing?) with all the baubles my hubby gives me, but Naaaaaaaaa!

I was a good girl the entire time he has been in California with the kids. I never snooped, peeked, did the un-wrap re-wrap. Not once, until this am. I just couldnt take it anymore... and besides, its officially Christmas now!
My husband is gone this holid
ay so I un-wrapped my gifts alone this am. No issues though, I have bright and shiny things now to keep my comfy until he arrives home tonight! :)

Are they not beautiful???!!! A
new cocktail ring and new band to go with my canary diamond. And of course I cant just snap any old image... !
I am (not) spoiled! Ok, maybe just a tad!!
! :)

Thank you baby... I love you so much! Hurry home to me~

Thank you for a great year!!!

A dog runs through the Christmas lights and gets all tangled up. Most people would say, "Oh, poor thing. Let's get her out." Me... I grab the camera and snap a shot then turn it into a Holiday Card! She is too funny!

Thank you for making 2008 a fantastic year for DB Images Photography. We have grown some, struggled some, had extreme highs and all too sad lows. But we survived, and we are stronger than ever. So here's to you, OUR CLIENTS! Who are the best clients a photographer could ever have. We look forward to 2009, with our move to Europe, 2 destination weddings already booked and many more on the way I'm sure! New website, new products, new-new-new and exciting things in store.
Hold on to you hats folks... you ain't seen nothing yet!

Happy Holidays to everyone!

Loving the Details...

I absolutely love to photograph the detail images of the wedding. The close-ups, the blurred edges, the color. I think its fun to find items from around the room such as a chair arm, an antique lighting fixture, even textured items such as linens and curtains make great backdrops. If you shoot it just right, no one can tell a thing except that it is unique!
Here are a few details from my latest bridal shoot... and although the bride asked for no images shown "in" her dress to be posted, she was more than happy to allow us to show the details of her classic shoes, beautiful dress, her french net veil, and her jeweled broach. Boutique couture!
Designer bridal sessions... all the rage!

Another Soldier comes home!!!

Tuesday, December 23, 2008

I receive a panic phone call about 7pm last evening... "My husband is coming home from Iraq, can you meet us at the airport at 9:30am for pictures of the arrival?"
I thought about it for all of a 1/2 second and assured her "Yes, Yes indeed I will be
there on this HUGE day!"
I am a proud volunteer f
or OpLove ReUnite... an organization where photographers donate their time and talents to take images of our troops prior to, and upon arrival home from deployment.

I have been there, waiting fo
r the man you love to come back from war. You see, for those who do not know already, my husband Eric and I met on Match.com while he was serving our country in Iraq. We were pen pals for 8 months prior to his arrival back in the states. I have to admit, I am one of those people I used to laugh at when others would say they met online and fell in love. Is it true? YES!!! I am proof positive that it is not only successful, but extremely so!

Back to my story... :)
Mrs. Baker phones me, so I meet her for the first time this morning just before her husband is ready to land. She is beautiful! With two beautiful girls to boot!!! All were just glowing, bouncing off the walls in anticipation, and it was thrilling to be a part of. Us military wives just have this bond we will never be able to explain to others, unless you have been there then you have NO clue! LOL!
Down the terminal walks one soldier, then another, then one of the little ones cries out "There's daddy!!!" They ran so fast to him I could catch anything but the hug at the end of the ramp. Smiles, some tears, and a whole lot of laughter filled the air!!!
Congrats to Major Baker on your
safe return home to America, and most importantly, your family!

Have a GREAT Christmas everyone! What a gift fro
m God!
