Friends in Las Vegas~

Eric and I traveled to Las Vegas for a photo shoot just prior to our wedding in California on the 4th. We are staying with my dear friends, busy catching up on all the happenings in our lives. Things are busy all around!!!
Her sons are very photogenic so I grabbed the camera (of course!) and we headed to the local park for some fun...
The little one, Jett Ray, has the most beautiful eyes! Big, beautiful eyes that look right through you and melts your heart. He called me "Ms. Debwa" and I just want to buy him the world!!! Her other son A.J. is a great skateboarder. He spends hours at the park practicing with friends. I was impressed. I set the camera to shutter priority and snapped away, loving it!

Launch Party!!!

What a success!
Last nights party went off with only minor glitches, but like any great vendor... never let them see you sweat! With a broken flash, a no show catering company, no raw images (everything was captured in black and white!) and my new associate not being able to make it due to her hubby being home on leave... things in my head were swimming. But, by the second guest of the almost 30 that showed, I was in great spirits and ready to take on the night.

Things started jumping at about 7pm with lots of wedding conversation amongst everyone. I had brides from last year along with my new brides for 2009. I also had some "on the fence" brides who are still searching for their vendors (I know one of them found their photographer last night!!!). Grooms tagged along too, all with smiles on their faces... they will make great husbands! LOL!

The games were hysterical, the food was awesome (Thanks Rosemary from Trinity Wedding Solutions for your last minute save!) the wine from Comel Creek was amazing and the cake from Sugar Hill Bakery was so darn yummy... thank goodness for left overs!

We broke off into 3 teams of 2 and together, they designed their wedding gowns with toilet paper! My brides are sooooo creative! I saw veils, bouquets, and even a ring and a bustle!!!

Another game had teams trying to figure out what was in the sock? They could only use their feet to describe what they thought it was... all items that you would bring with you on your honeymoon. Think about it!

Another had couples drawing their significant other in their undies... the catch, they had to do it with the paper on their heads! So funny!

Even the men got involved playing with the cotton balls and little wooden spoon. Object? Get the cotton balls to stay on the wooden spoon long enough to make it to the top of your head. All, while being blindfolded!!!!! Jose's spiked hair helped, and Addisons slick head didn't. But, it was Sable who won the prize!

Off to the studio where we all donned funny hats for a mini photo shoot! Would have been great in color EH???!!! LOL!!! Don't ask! :)

I think my hubby looked the best in his. He has a great head for hats! LOL! I love him so damn much! He made this night a huge success! Without him I am so very lost, I can't believe he is leaving me in a few weeks. SO NOT FAIR!!!

Alexis Sweet 16 Party!

Her sister Alison is having her wedding in October, she is turning sweet 16 today... mom & dad are taking a second mortgage! LOL!
With two beautiful daughters having huge bashes just months apart, a parent could go crazy with all the planning. But this family is loving, and generous, and so very happy together, and that love flowed freely through the room last night as Alexis celebrated her sweet 16 with friends and family out in Gonzales, Texas.
DB Images will be shooting Alisons wedding, so she phoned one day asking about hiring us to do her sisters party as well. We were thrilled, this will be our first sweet 16... how fun!
We started out with formal pictures in our new studio and then out at tonight's celebration.
Alexis' theme was circles... everywhere there were big brown and blue circles, and it was amazing! The cake was from a magazine picture that they had found and turned out just as she had planned. It was young, fun, and so yummy!!! And as her family and friends lit 16 candles in celebration of her life, each one said a little something about this beautiful young lady. From what I heard, this is one heck of a young woman, with a huge heart, a bright future and the world by the tail! You go girl!
Thank you for having DB Images once again be a part of the celebrations of your life. Can't wait for that wedding in October!

A brides gift for her husband~

I met Mz. Mindy about a month back when she contacted me in regards to my portrait packages. She came by the studio and we had a great afternoon of fantastic conversation followed by a booking for a secret portrait session for her hubby to be!!!
We went way out to Boerne, and she borrowed the grounds of a friend of hers (thanks friend!) and we ran all over making beautiful memories for her surprise gift.
She looks stunning, and although most images are just for her man... I am so happy she agreed to the posting of today's shoot.
